The catchy OK brand name derives its name from the company's
erstwhile Swedish name, Oljekonsumenterna Förbund. This
name translates to "Oil Consumers Association"; in other
words, a consumers cooperative. This map was issued in 1973
and shows all OK stations.

OMV was founded to consolidate the Austrian government's oil
production and retailing holdings. In recent years, OMV
acquired facilities from companies such as Total which had
chosen to leave Austrian marketing. And also OMV has begun to
expand into other countries, particularly its neighbors in
eastern Europe. This map was probably issued in the early
Nineties.

In the Eighties the government of Kuwait sought a marketing
presence for its massive oil resources. It found an outlet in
Europe as financially-troubled Gulf sought to exit from
Europe. Gulf stations were branded with the new Q8 name (a
clever play on the word "Kuwait") and a colorful sail logo.
This map was issued by Q8's Swedish subsidiary.
