This map of Cuba was issued in 1956, three years before Fidel Castro took power and foreign operations in Cuba were driven out by Castro's policies and by the U. S.-led trade embargo on Cuba that persists some 40 years later. This 1947 map of El Salvador is typical of the design used by Esso in most Central American countries during the years immediately following World War II.
